Promedela keto diet program
Ketogenic VLCD (active phase)
During the active phases, weight loss of 1.5 kg – 2 kg per week is common, which leads to visible results and high motivation levels in individuals. During the active phases, the client will have check-ups every two weeks with our medical team to monitor progress and determine the transition to the next phases.
Five Promedela meals are consumed with the addition of fresh salads and vegetables. Individualized meal plan will be given with the addition of supplements. Meals are in the form of soups, scrambled eggs, purees, porridges, shakes, juices, mousses, puddings, pancakes and cakes. The active phase involves the reduction of fats and carbohydrates in the diet, while preserving protein intake.
LCD reduction diet
The second (reductive phase) begins to be applied when the client loses 80% of the desired weight loss. In this phases intake of carbohydrates is increased, and the intake of protein meals decreases. During this phase, according to the glycemic index, other foods, fruits, dairy products, legumes and starchy foods are gradually introduced, creating appropriate eating habits and a balanced diet.
Stabilization of the achieved weight
The last, phase of the Promedela protein diet is the maintenance of the achieved body weight. Depending on the age and health condition, the recommendations are individual and specific. In the third phase, the adaptation of metabolism to the daily diet is achieved, and hence, the yo-yo effect does not occur.
Кetosis
The Promedela diet is a protein ketogenic diet. In process of loosing weight, generally lean muscle mass as well as fat mass is lost. To ensure lean muscle mass loss is prevented, it is important that we optimize the consumption of protein in our diet.
Protein diet originates from the 1971 PhD thesis of Harvard University professor George Blackburn. Studies have shows that the such diet can be used effectively for rapid weight loss in adolescents with morbid obesity.
High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets have been widely promoted as effective weight loss plans. The Promedela team has developed a high-protein, low-carbohydrate, low-fat ketogenic diet through a combination of food and supplements.
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the body. Without enough carbohydrates for energy, the body breaks down fat into ketones. The ketones then become the primary source of fuel for the body. When ketones become the primary source of fuel, this puts your body in a state called ketosis.
At this time, the body is no longer using primarily carbohydrates as energy source and instead uses primarily fats as an energy source, resulting in a reduction of fat stores in the body. When fat stores become a primary energy source, the body will experience an increase in energy and reduction in appetite which, will result in safe, consistent and noticeable weight loss.
Promedela program is for the dietary management of obesity and must be used under the supervision of a medical professional.
Medical supervision
During the Promedela program client is under the supervision of a doctor. The doctor alongside the professional medical team will monitor the client in every aspect, through tests such as blood pressure, full blood an iron studies to determine the intake of proteins and supplements as well as guide the transition through the phases in the program.
Incorrect or excessive protein intake as well as inadequate supplements may affect health. For this reason, it is not recommended to undertake the diet without the supervision of our medical team. This is particularly necessary, if the client has a co-existing medical condition this may require the medical team to observe the client more closely.
Furthermore, the doctor will ensure that the diet plan is individual to client’s specific likes and dislikes, medical conditions, nutritional needs, physical activity levels and lifestyle. Promedela team provides supports and guidance on all our success stories ensuring optimal results are achieved.
